Jagermeister e ste un lichior maro închis realizat din 56 de ierburi diferite (anason lemn dulce boabe de ienupăr ghimbir sunt unele dintre ele) cu 35% alcool. Este una dintre băuturile preferate ale germanilor și este comercializată pe scară largă în afara țării. De obicei se bea numai în pahare scurte și atunci când este combinat cu bere sau un energizant este cunoscut sub numele de Jagerbomb. Rețeta lichiorului Jagermeister – secretă și bine înrădăcinată – este formată din 56 de ierburi fructe și condimente: lemn dulce portocală șofran nucșoară mentă anason boia și alte 49 de elemente dintre care patru sunt secrete și cunoscute doar de trei persoane din lume. La prepararea lichiorului Jagermeister ingredientele solide sunt măcinate și amestecate cu apă timp de cinci săptămâni. Apoi extractul obținut este combinat cu zahăr și alcool și îmbătrânit timp de un an în butoaie de stejar după care este verificat filtrat testat și ambalat în cele din urmă în clasica sa sticlă verde. Rezultatul este un lichior captivant robust și intens (cu 35% alcool) care pentru mulți are un postgust medicinal interesant: un fel de amestec dulce de lemn dulce malț și sirop. Această aromă specială a triumfat de la lansarea sa comercială în 1935 când Curt Mast a început să o producă în orașul Wolfenbüttel și a început să fie exportat în 1974 adunând treptat o mulțime de adepți internaționali.
