Romul Zacapa a fost creat in anul 1976, cu ocazia celebrarii a 100 de ani de la infiintarea orasului Zacapa. Spre deosebire de majoritatea romurilor care sunt fabricate din melasa, romurile Zacapa sunt fabricate folosind prima presa de trestie de zahar. Procesul de fermentare foloseste o tulpina de drojdie derivata din ananas, care scoate la iveala arome incredibile. Secretul calitatii acestui rom il reprezinta spatiul de stocare a butoaielor de invechire, aflat la 2300 de metri peste nivelul marii, la poalele unui munte din apropierea orasului Zacapa. De mai bine de 35 de ani, master blenderul Lorena Vasquez, una dintre putinele femei master blender din aceasta industrie, se asigura ca creatiile sale sunt intotdeauna impresionante si bine primite in intreaga lume.Zacapa Reserva Limitada este un amestec care combina diferite distilate. Cel mai tanar distilat a fost maturat timp de cinci ani, iar cel mai vechi aproximativ douazeci de ani. Această editie speciala de rom prezinta arome de stafide, scortisoara si caramel, care se combina frumos cu note de stejar și vanilie. Acest amestec bine structurat are o nota exotica memorabila.
