Equiano sunt producatorii primelor romuri africane si caraibiene din lume. Fondatori au infiintat inital o fundatie cu acelasi nume, romurile lor multipremiate sunt o colaborare intre doua distilerii unice de pe doua continente diferite. Fundatia a fost denumita dupa Olaudah Equiano, un luptator pentru libertate care si-a deschis drumul spre eliberare prin vanzarea de rom. Equiano acorda cu mandrie 5% din profiturile globale ale companiei si 2 dolari din fiecare sticla vanduta prin intermediul site-ului lor, care va sprijini Anti-Slavery International pe parcursul anului viitor.Equiano Original este unul dintre cele mai bune romuri afro-caraibiane din lume in acest moment, acesta este 100% natural, fara condimente, fara aditivi si fara zahar adaugat. Este un amestec de romuri pe baza de melasa de la Gray's Distillery si Foursquare Rum Distillery. La Gray's Distillery este distilat in coloana si invechit timp de 10 ani intr-o combinatie de butoaie de stejar francez Limousin si de ex-Cognac. Iar la Foursquare este amestecat cu rom Single Blended invechit in butoaie de fost Bourbon timp de cel putin 8 ani in Barbados, fara adaos de zahar.Miros: de condimente calde de stejar si melasma dulce se impletesc cu caramel, banane caramelizate si prune uscate. Gust: corpolent si plin cu note de caramel, vanilie caramelizata, cuisoare, prune fierte si piper negru persistent. Finalul este lung si placut, cu arome mai dulci care preiau incet elementele de condimente.
