Descriere
John Grant, George Sellar si Alexander Mackenzie detineau in anul 1897 o distilierie de whisky. Au strans aproximativ 10000 de lire steline, pentru a construi distileria Strathspey de la Dalwhinnie intre Great North Road si calea ferata Highland. Locul pentru distilerie a fost ales pentru accesul sau la apa de izvor Lochan-Doire-Uaine si turba abundenta din baltile din jur. Denumirea Dalwhinnie este derivata din cuvantul galic Dail Chuinnidh, ce inseamna loc de intalnire, referindu-se la rutele antice de vanatoare de prin munti.Dalwhinnie 15 ani este un sortiment deosebit care a primit 95 de puncte de la Jim Murry. Acest sortiment are un caracter elegant si aromatic fructat, iar prin maturarea indelungata isi contureaza un profil aparte cremos cu note de vanilie, fum si accente de condimente.
