Istoria distileriei Ardbeg incepe in anul 1815, atunci cand John Macdougall cumpara o licenta de producator si deschide distileria Ardbeg ca si o distilerie cu acte in regula. Cativa ani mai tarziu aceasta va avea un nou proprietar pe Thomas Buchanan. In ciuda ascensiunilor si coborasurilor de pe drum sau, Distileria Ardbeg supravietuieste in ciuda tuturor sanselor cu o productie de bauturi ireprosabile, care in ultimii ani au castigat numeroase premii, fiind chiar numita atat de aproape de perfectiune de catre cunoscatorii de whisky-uri.Ardbeg Corryvreckan isi ia numele de la faimosul vartej care se afla la Nord de Islay, unde doar cele mai curajoase suflete indraznesc sa se aventureze. La fel ca si vartejul propiu-zis single maltul Ardbeg Corryvreckan nu este pentru cei slabi. Acesta are niste arome valtoase cu torente de gust adanc de turba si ardei iute ce pandesc sub suprafata acestui single malt.Miros: Mirosul acestui single malt este frumos, intens si puternic cu note intense de ciocolata neagra, coacaze negre, cirese combinat cu arome de alge, sare, turba, indicii de vanilie cuisoare si afineGust: Scufundati-va in vartejul si torentii de gust ai acestui single malt cu note adanci de piper ce bombardeaza limba la gustare cu note de ardei, piper si alge. Pe masura ce este gustat apar notele de cafea, coacaze negre, afine, cirese si migdale amare.Finish: Finish-ul este unul lung, adanc cu note de cafea, cirese, ciocolata si ardei iute
