Descriere
Intr-o casa abandonata in regiunea Speyside din Scotia, William Grant construieste distileria Balvenie in anul 1892, asa incepe povestea Balvenie. Datorita alchimiei naturale si maiestriei vechi de secole, Blavenie, este unic in randul producatorilor de single malt-uri. Procesul celor de la Blavenie, de confectionare a whisky-ului este dedicat intretinerii celor 5 mestesuguri rare si este singura distilerie din Scotia care inca isi creste singura propriul orz, foloseste inca pardosele traditionale pentru malt-uri si pastreaza inca atat un cazangiu cat si o echipa de dogari (oameni ce construiesc butoaie manual). Balvenie Double Wood 12 ani a fost lansat in anul 1993 folosind un proces cunoscut sub denumirea de “finisare a lemnului” conceput de maestrul maltului David Steward in 1982. Acest sortiment a fost maturat in doua tipuri diferite de butoaie din lemn. Prima maturare si-o petrece in butoaie din lemn de stejar american folosit anterior pentru sherry, aici capatand un caracter delicat deoarece lemnul aduce adancime si plinatate aromei, iar pentru doua luni isi petrece a doua maturare in butoaie din lemn de stejar european unde is contureaza tonurile. Balvenie Double Wood 12 ani este bogat si complex.Miros: Mirosul acestui single scoate in evidenta notele fructelor dulci de sherry completate cu miere si vanilieGust: Arome moi de dulceata, condimente dominate de scortisoara si un accent de sherry delicatFinish: Finish-ul este unul lung si incalzitor
