Istoria lui Islay Mist este destul de noua, acest whisky isi datoreaza existenta unei sarbatori care marca 21 de ani de la nasterea a fiului, mai tarziu Lord Margadale, din Laird din Islay House in 1927. S-a considerat ca pentru o sarbatoare atat de importanta, cu oaspeti din lung si lat, renumitul single malt Laphroaig ar putea fi prea greu pentru gustul tuturor, asa ca acesta este combinat cu o gama de malt-uri din Highland de inalta calitate, inclusiv Glenlivet si echilibrat cu whisky din Lowland. Rezultatul s-a dovedit atat de popular incat s-a decis sa se comercializeze un amestec similar sub numele de Islay Mist, un blended scotch care detine acum o stima ridicata.Islay Mist Deluxe este un blended scotch cu un miros dulceag si o cremozitate placuta cu note aromatice de alge marine. Se mai resimt si note de vanilie si ierburi uscate, toate acestea accentuand gustul si transformandu-l intr-unul cremos si moale cu arome de rom, stejar si stafide.
