Descriere
Distileria Glenfarclas este o distilerie din zona Speyside din Ballindalloch, Scotia. Numele de Glenfarclas vine tradus ca vale a ierbii verzi.Distileria este intretinuta si administrata de a a 6-a generatie a celor din familia Grant cu o traditie de peste 150 de ani in acest domeniu. Exista totusi dovezi cum ca distileria a inceput operatiunile cu ceva timp inainte de 1791, insa aceasta a primit pentru prima data o licenta de productie in 1836 cand era condusa de Robert Hay, inar in 1865 aceasta a fost cumparat de John Grant si este inca detinnuta de urmasii sai, ceea ce face ca distileria sa fie intradevar independenta.Glenfarclas 105 Cask Strength esre un single malt whisky cu o istorie ce poate fi urmarita inca din 1968. Atunci cand Glenfarclas a fost prima distilerie care a lansat un whisky cu o tarie mult mai mare decat whisky-urile in general si asta se regaseste si in denumire cask strength adica taria butoiului, de unde whisky-ul isi preia taria. Astfel sortimentul a fost denumit 105 referindu-se la continutul de alcool dupa British Proof, care acum in zilele noastre echivaleaza cu 60%. Acest sortiment, nu prezinta o declaratie de varsta ceea ce este rar in colectia Gelnfarclas, asta cu toate ca exista sugestii ca acest whisky este maturat timp de 8-10 ani intr-o combinatie de foste butoaie sherry si bourbon.Miros: Acest single malt are un buchet complex cu note dominante de lemn, mere si pere bine coapte, vanilie si accente de caramelGust: Gustul este simtit ca aspru initial dupa care se imbina dintr-o data aromele condimentate, notele de fructe uscate si tonurile lemnoaseFinish: Finish-ul este unul extrem de fin, bine conturat cu note intense de fum
