Descriere
Situat in inima Speyside-ului, in regiunea de Nord-Est a orasului Morayshire, Benriach afiseaza tot farmecul traditional al distileriilor din Speyside. Construita de John Duff in 1898, Benriach isi trage apa din izvoarele Burnside situate in subteran, adanc sub distilerie. Desi distileria a inceput sa produca whisky malt in 1898, aceasata a fost victima a sincronizarii nefericite fiind operativa doar 2 ani inainte de Pattison crash din 1900 care a dus la o perioada grea pentru intreaga industire de whisky si inchiderea a numeroase distilerii. Asadar dupa doar doi ani de la deschidere s-a lasat linistea in distileria Benriach timp de 65 de ani, cand in 1965 industria whisky-ului scotian a intrat in epoca de aur, cand au fost deschise noii distilerii printre care si Benriach.Benriach Curiositas 10 ani foloseste un orz puternic afumat ca soi de cereale pentru a produce o expresie proaspata, unica is afumata de single malt. Acest single malt rar, afumat din Speyside are niste tonuri extraordinare de fum combinate istet cu tonuri in fundal de fructe si note florale si care prezinta un finisaj lemnos. Traditionalistii considera ca malt-urile afumate obtin un echilibru optim de infuzie de turba si stejar dupa 10 ani de maturare, iar acest single malt este o revenire la caracaterul original Speyside si la aromele tipice ale secolului '19.MIros: Buchetul armoatic al acestui single malt se compune dintr-o explozie de turba cu note aromate de miere, fructe si stejar moaleGust: Gustul este si el invaluit de turba, urmata de un amestec extravagant si complex de fructe, nuci, lemn de stejar si mirodeniiFinish: Finish-ul este unul persistent si lemnos
