Famous Grouse a luat nastere in 1896 cu viziunea simpla de a crea blended whisky de cea mai buna calitate, iar acum sunt cunoscuti in intreaga lume pentru asta. John Brown si-a inceput afacerile alimentare din Perth in 1800. Fiica sa Margaret s-a casatorit cu Matthew Gloag, iar ea a preluat afacerea familiei de la tatal sau in 1824 si a condus-o pana cand Matthew a preluat controlul la peste unn deceniu mai tarziu. De fapt Margaret a dobandit o licenta de pentru a vinde vin si bauturi spirtoase in 1831, iar Matthew nu a intrat in afaceri pana in 1835 cand numele a fost schimbat in Matthew Gloag.Famous Grouse este u whisky ce a obtinut calitati impresionante, dupa ce a fost perfectionat si adaptat la retea lui Matthew Gloag din 1869. Acesta este un shisky fin, cu trasaturi clasice, obtinut in una din cele mai mici distileri din Glasgow cu pasiune si maiestrie.
