Distilerie aflată în „Regina hebridelor”, insula Islay, Lagavulin demonstrează prin sticlele produse ca fumul nu acaparează personalitatea whisky-ului. Deși povestea Lagavulin începe cu contrabandă și ilegalitate în anul 1742, astăzi este cea mai veche distilerie din regiunea Islay. În tinerețe, whisky-ul era înflăcărat și aprig, dar cu timpul acesta și-a câștigat renumele și eleganța. Lagavulin The Distillers Edition este dublu maturat în butoaiele de sherry Pedro Ximénez și butoaiele de lemn de stejar unde se dezvoltă caracterul îmbietor. Aroma, puțin timidă la început, devine satisfăcătoare și chiar ispititoare. Stafidele țin în frâu fumul, iar în combinație cu notele de vanilie finish-ul este unul dulce și ușor afumat.
