Povestea whisky-ului Teacher's dateaza de mai bine de 175 de ani, cand a fost introdus noul Act de Accizare, iar William Teacher in varsta de 19 ani, fost muncitor din fabrica de bumbac era un tanar cu o atitudine fara compromisuri si o multime de auto-credinta. In 1830, William Teacher a obtinut o licenta de a vinde whisky de la un magazin alimentar din districtul Anderson din Glasgow, magazin ce era detinut de mama iubitei sale, Agnes McDonald cu care in 1832 acesta se si casatoreste cu care a continuat sa deschida primul magazin de bauturi din Piccadilly Street, unde clientii se puteau opri si se puteau bucura de un whisky fin.Teacher's Highland Cream este acel whisky de care se spunea ca William Teacher nu si-ar fi dat numele amestecului sau pana acesta nu gasea perfectiunea. Highland Cream foloseste single malt complet afumat din distileria Ardmore, acesta fiind ca single malt-ul amprenta pentru acest sortiment.
