Amaro Montenegro denumit lichiorul virtutilor a fost creat în 1885 după îndelungi experimente si pasiune extremă depusă de catre celebrul distilator Stanislao Cobianchi. Lichiorul este distilat din peste 40 de plante şi este omagiul său adus frumoasei printese Elena de Muntenegru logodnica de la acea vreme a printulului Victor Emanuel al III-lea. În decursul a peste 100 de ani Amaro Montenegro a devenit din ce în ce mai popular fiind astăzi unul dintre cele mai vândute branduri pe piaţa din Italia. Lichiorul poate fi savurat sec cu apă şi lămâie sau în diverse cocktailuri. Amestecul inedit de plante l-a determinat pe scriitorul italian Gabrielle D’Annunzio să numească acest sortiment „lichiorul virtuților”. Mirosul este expresiv cu note de coajă de portocală cireşe petale de trandafir şi ierburi aromatice. Gustul este definit de buchetul aromatic format din note de şofran coriandru mandarină frunze de tutun şi ceai negru echilibrate armonios cu note florale si tente discrete de miere. Finish-ul este unul lung dulce-amărui.
