Distileria Highland Park este indiscutabil destul de izolata, insulele unde se afla fiind extrem de independente care erau candva asezate la rascruce intre culturile nordice si scotiene si fiind conduse de regii Vikingi ai Norvegiei si Danemarcei. Inslua Orkney, unde se afla distileria, a fost condusa in perioada anilor 800 - 1468 de o succesiune de regi Vikingi, unii extrem de intelepti iar altii extrem de rai. Highland Park este facut astazi asa cum era facut si in 1789, folosing 5 elemente cheie ale productiei. Nici o alta distilerie nu foloseste toate cele 5 elemente cheie, deci nici un alt whisky nu are gust ca Highland Park.
