The Macallan întruchipează cele mai înalte standarde ale calității încă de când a fost fondat în anul 1824 de către Alexander Reid, aflându-se printre primele distilerii legale din Scoția. Obsesia pentru calitate și atenția amănunțită la detalii au contribuit la reputația fără de cusur datorată excepționalelor butoaie de stejar reprezentative pentru The Macallan. Demne de a fi numite excepționale, aceste butoaie sunt alese cu cea mai mare grijă și atenție, în conformitate cu standardele exigente ce caracterizează distileria. Aceste butoaie sunt cel mai important factor pentru aromele deosebite, culoarea whisky-ului fiind redată în proporție de 100% de lemnul în care a fost maturat. Respectându-și standardele și tradiția, The Macallan nu adaugă caramel pentru a colora sau uniformiza culoarea whisky-urilor. Colour Collection este o gamă excepțională ce se bazează pe pilonii principali Macallan: Natural Color și Sherry Seasoning, fiind creată special pentru Travel Retail. Desing-ul special a fost creat de artistul David Carson, care a reușit să înteleagă pe deplin spiritul Macallan. Aceste expresii de vârstă remarcabile reușesc să impresioneze de la nuanțele calde până la notele de degustare. 18 Years Old are o culoare castanie impresionantă, ce este rezultatul butoaielor de steajr care lucrează armonios de-a lungul anilor. Aromele absolut delicoase de vanilie și ciocolată cu lapte se îmbină perfect cu note de portocale și miere, conducându-te ușor spre un finish aromatic și complex.
