In anul 1827, George Ballantine a infiintat aceasta afacere pe cand avea doar 19 ani, iar mai tarziu si-a impartasit expertiza de amestecare a whisky-ului cu fiii sai George II, Archibald si Daniel si cu nepoturl sau, George al III-lea. Son a fost rasplatita cu un titlu regal de la Regina Victoria pentru eforturile companiei de a castiga prestigioasa reputatie.Ballantine's Finest Blended Scotch este dovada clara a blendului clasic. Acest whisky a fost lansat pentru prima data in 1910 si de atunci pastreaza aceiasi reteta de amestecare pentru a avea acelasi scotch whisky in fiecare sticla.
