Kane McKenzie Haig a fondat distileria la inceputul anilor 1720 in Kennetpans, langa Stirling, care a devenit cea mai mare distilerie a Scotiei pana in anii 1733, fiind numita si prima distilerie comerciala din lume. In acest moment brandul si distileria originala fac parte acum din Diageo, cea mai mare companiei de bauturi spirtoase din lume si un important producator de bere.Haig Gold Label este cunoscut ca cel mai vechi dintre whisky-urile scotch si poate fi chiar si cel mai vechi whisky din lume. Whisky-ul Haig este incarcat in istorie de cand a fost distilat pentru prima data de John Haig in 1824.
